Grid connected Photovoltaic systems
Who wouldn't like to produce electricity
and profit of it?
This is possible, now and today, with a grid connected photovoltaic
system: A modern, reliable, attractive and intelligent solution
for everybody. We show you how it works and help you with the implementation.
Ask us and let the dream of your own power plant come true!
Grid connected Photovoltaic systems feed the produced electricity into the electrical grid.
Thanks to the existing legislation in Spain and in many other European
countries the fed in electricity has to be bought by the regional
electricity company for a fixed price. This tariff is much higher
than the regular price for electricity. Thus, it makes sense for
the owner of a grid connected PV system to sell all the produced
electricity to the electricity company.
This procedure also ensures that the solar electricity produced is always used and the owner of the PV system receives an attractive income for each kWh of electricity generated by his PV system also during his own absence.
Product/System
Beside the PV-modules as the main component
for the production of electricity, some other elements are necessary
to build a grid connected PV system:
- Module fixation system to optimize the orientation and to line up the modules according to the given conditions
- Inverter to transform the direct current that is produced by the PV modules into alternating current synchronous with the grid and obliging to other mandatory parameters
- Counter to document the amount of
electricity that has been produced and fed in by the PV system
- Cables, installation, connecting boxes, lightning
protection system, remote data acquisition and alarm system, etc.,
according to the requirements of the system and the customer
Together these elements ensure that as much light as possible is received and used by the PV system. The direct current from the PV modules can then be transformed by the inverter and transferred to the grid with lowest possible losses.
Due to location specific technical and constructional
circumstances the system design, selection of the components and
erection of a PV system should be laid into professional hands.
Then a durable, proper and optimized operation of the installation
can be ensured. We can account for this with our experienced personell.
Areas of application
Grid connected PV systems can be built
and operated wherever an electrical grid and a sufficient area is
available. Economically, a minimum of 20m² module surface area is
required, which corresponds to a system peak power of about 2kWp.
Technically, there is nearly no upper limit concerning the size
of the system. For example, installations of more than 1.000kWp
have been built in different countries. The upper limit is mostly
set by economic conditions and available area. Due to some restrictions
given in the feed in law and financing schemes in Spain a system
size of 100kWp marks the upper limit for economically reasonable
individual systems.
For higher required nominal power solar
thermal power plants are the more favourable solution especially
in southern regions - such as Spain - with a high share of direct
solar irradiation. Under these conditions and even starting from
sizes of a few hundred kW they offer a higher cost efficiency and
the opportunity to use waste heat for different other applications
creating a second revenue stream.

Advantages
Combination of investment and environmental protection
Since 2004, the operation of a grid
connected PV system in Spain is an attractive investment due to
the high feed in tariff for electricity that is produced by solar
energy. Also if one does not spend the entire year in Spain the
produced electricity has to be bought by the electricity company
and thus a continuous income is guaranteed. The investment into
a solar PV is thereby a delightful and highly profitable investment
and active environmental protection at the same time.
Increase of supply security
Apart from the economic and environmental
aspect there is a third benefit in the use of solar energy especially
in Spain: Supply security. Due to the increasing use of air conditioners
in public and private buildings black outs, brown outs and supply
shortages are frequently experienced. Having in mind the constantly
growing demand for electricity during summer season daytime and
the high offered solar radiation in sunny southern Spain during
summer, solar generated electricity comes as a natural solution.
So each PV generator will reduce the amount of overloads and power
shortages.
So why hesitate? Take the advantages and make use of the excellent framework for solar energy in Spain!
Support and Financing
High feed in tariff
In Spain, the increased feed in tariff
for electricity produced by PV systems is legally guaranteed for
25+10 years by the law Real Decreto 436/2004. This tariff is determined
annually. In 2006, a price of 44ct is paid for each kWh produced
by PV systems below 100kW. Since the tariff is dependent on the
average electricity price in Spain increasing prices for electricity
will result in an increased feed in tariff (actually the tariff
has raised moren than 11% during the last 2 years !). Thus, the
owner of a grid connected PV system in Spain has the opportunity
to benefit from increasing electricity prices like the electricity
companies do.
Favourable Financing
The national Credit Institute of Spain
ICO offers a limited financing program with low interest rates and
20% debt release for grid connected PV systems. Due to the attractive
feed in tariff the demand for credits of this program is very strong
and is possible that not all enquiries can be satisfied. Nonetheless,
the currently attractive financing conditions for normal debts offer
a good and much easier alternative for financing a PV system. Also
with such a commercial loan investing in a PV system is very profitable.
Our Services
Planning, supply and installation from one hand
We take over the detailed planning
for your solar system, supply the plant, install it on your roof
or piece of land and commission it. Thus, you only have one partner
for all questions and in each phase of the project. We prepare all
necessary applications for grid connection, feed in tariff, building
permit and national loans for you. You don’t have anything to do
but to decide whether you want to go for it or not.
Support and service
The plant itself works nearly maintenance-free.
Nevertheless, it may make sense to include the additional service
of a remote supervision of the plant and a scheduled annual inspection
and cleaning service.
Thus, it is guaranteed that damages or other performance deteriorations
caused by external influences are cleared as fast as possible and
do not lead to a loss of profit from your plant. From our branch
in Malaga we can intervene immediately in the improbable case of
a disturbance, restore the efficiency of the system again and secure
your incomes.

In the future a stronger rise in the
electricity tariffs can probably be expected (just refer to the
current development of the oil price index), which would also lead
to even higher earnings from the Photovoltaic system than assumed
in our example.
We would be glad to give you additional
information and to make you an individual offer on how also you
can profit from using the energy of the sun.
